Overview
This half day educational program enhances emergency department providers readiness to manage high acuity clinical scenarios through immersive, hands on learning. From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, participants will rotate through four simulation and skills stations focused on obstetric emergencies and neonatal resuscitation, management of massive GI bleeding and contaminated airways, orthopedic reductions and splinting, and point of care cardiac ultrasound. The session concludes with a 90 minute DEI education lecture from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, led by Tyrai Bronson, which supports providers in identifying and addressing healthcare disparities while promoting inclusive, equitable care in alignment with ECC and DEI mission statements.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Recognize potential complications of vaginal deliveries and propose appropriate treatment methods.
  2. Demonstrate use of PPV to resuscitate ill neonates.
  3. Prepare Minnesota tube equipment to treat massive upper GI bleed.
  4. Formulate plan for intubation when airway is contaminated.
  5. Explain optimal techniques to reduce common fractures dislocations and splint them appropriately.
